Welcome to West Coast Rottweiler Rescue!

Urgent

Without your help, we can’t do this.

Foster homes are the life blood of any dog rescue and West Coast Rottweiler
Rescue desperately needs help in this area. Most times we can’t tell you how
long it would be. Some dogs are only in care for a couple of months, some
for much longer. Some dogs need medical care, some dogs need to learn to trust
again. All of them need love.

I won’t lie. Fostering is one of the hardest things you will ever do. You
are expected to bring a dog into your home, teach it manners, feed it, show
it love and then when the time comes, you help it move into a new and forever
home. Our hearts break every single time that we let a dog leave our care. But
we do it because there are other dogs needing us.

West Coast Rottweiler Rescue has one special case. We need long term foster
care for an adult male. He is wonderful houseguest, good with our respectful
female. He is house trained, crate trained, affectionate and loving. Once he
knows you, all he wants is love. He is not destructive at all but is very
excitable and would not do well in a house with children. This boy has had
very little leash training and has had a hard life and must be treated
gently but firmly.

So if you can open your heart and your home, please let us know. West Coast
Rottweiler Rescue will provide all food, vet care and even pay for obedience
classes for the 2 of you to attend. This helps with the bonding process and
will help him become the great dog that we know he can be.

Please contact us at wcrr.info@gmail.com for an foster application. The gift
you receive is in knowing that you have helped save a life.

Who We Are

We are a small group of individuals from the Lower Mainland area of British Columbia that pledge to place homeless Rottweilers with appropriate loving families.

All animals in the care of WCRR will be provided with medical assistance, foster homes, appropriate food and housing. Before being placed with a family, all animals will be altered and microchipped. Follow up care will be provided for the life of any dog in our care.

We will be applying for non-profit status in the year 2008.

Why We Are

I have been a Rottweiler lover for many years. My very first rottie was an old boy we found at the BCSPCA.

Luke was 12 yrs old when he came to live with us and taught me about this wonderful breed. Luke showed my family just how loving, gentle and trustworthy Rottweilers could be. Even though he had been thru 5 homes before landing on our doorstep, he still trusted completely. Old Man Luke only lived with us for another year and a half before he passed away but because of him I fell in love with thisbreed. So my journey began.

Rottweilers are not a breed for everyone. They are a smart active dog that needs fair and consistent leadership. Without this, many can find themselves in trouble.  Most of these dogs in the shelters just need a second chance.  They need someone to show them where their place in this world is.

They need to be with their people as much as possible and they need training. It is our goal to find the best of homes for unwanted Rottweilers in British Columbia.
